Description
This clock is similar to a chalet clock, except it features a large carved front piece. As a result, it’s a cross between a chale and a chale with a heavy focus on high-quality carving. Large fir trees, characteristic of mountainous regions like the Black Forest or the Alps, frame the front of the clock. The scene depicted on the clock face is typical of animal life in the Alps on a daily basis. Swooping down on his prey, the massive hunting eagle. Is it going to be a young boar or a mouse? It’s up to each proud clock owner to say the tale. Many of the figurines and decorative elements are hand-painted and made of wood. The thatched roof is another eye-catcher. It’s modeled after real Black Forest farm house roofs, which are thatched unevenly by hand.
