The Black Forest is the focus of this Chalet Clock. Since wood is the most common and easily accessible raw material, sawmills can be found all over the Black Forest. Most sawmills used water power to run their wood saws several decades ago. Many sawmills can now be found along rivers and small streams. While they are no longer driven by the water, many still have the mill wheels from earlier times. The front-facing wood saw is thus the clock’s most important feature. The saw goes up and down in time with the clock’s chime, as if sawing the wood log in half. More or less completed wooden beams can be seen to the left and right of the saw. The mill wheel to the left of the clock also spins at the stroke of the hour. As a result, a general image of the Black Forest sawmill emerges. The clock is a lovely chalet that has been richly decorated and painted. Balcony with figurines that dance. The clock is made entirely of wood and is entirely handcrafted.
