This is a huge cuckoo clock with a lot of bells and whistles. The clocks are detailed representations of a Black Forest Farming Estate. The design of this clock incorporates several features of such a farm. For starters, the building’s/design clock is inspired by historic Black Forest farmsteads. Those were constructed by generations of farmers and include the main structure as well as many annexes at varied angles. The clock house, like them, has side buildings. Another element of a Black Forest farm is a mill-wheel. Many such wheels can still be found today, used as a power generator for sawing wood or grinding grains.
The clock vendor figure on the left adds a great touch of clock history to the clock. Many Black Forest farmers had a lot of extra time during the long winters, so they used it to carve and manufacture clocks, which were sold during the summer months by clock salesmen like the one on the clock. They sold the clocks all over Germany and the surrounding countries while carrying them on their backs. This is how the clockmaking industry began in the Black Forest.

This clock has a very detailed décor, with two figurines, multiple animal figurines, and several smaller pieces, resulting in a very believable farming estate setting. Wood is used for all figures and ornamental pieces.
The shingle roof is another eye-catcher. It’s inspired by authentic Black Forest farm house roofs, which are hand-laid with individual tiles.
