Beautiful classy wall clock. Super easy to set up. It came with its own battery but I used a name brand instead. Just popped in the battery, set my time zone and DST on and pressed the REC button on the back. It searched for a signal and I hung it up on the wall while it was winding to the correct time. I left the kitchen where I hung it and when I returned, it was the right time. Awesome.

Clock is one week old. It started easily and I set the time and hung on wall. It must have corrected it self as it is still perfect. The extra price for Seiko is worth it as I had trouble with some cheaper clocks and I have another Seiko that is 6 years old.

Our previous atomic wall clock, by Lacrosse Technologies, lasted just short of two years before the second hand stopped working. The quality of that item was never very impressive. Contrast that with this new Seiko clock. The mechanism in the back is more robust, easier to understand, and this clock synced with the atomic clock in Colorado almost instantly in the middle of the day.

If the room is completely silent, and you strain to hear it, the ticking is detectable but otherwise not at all intrusive. The look is elegant, with silver background and black numbers. Very satisfied.

The Seiko R-Wave wall clock can receive the WWVB time signal around midnight in Vancouver, BC. It is harder to see the time if you view it from the side due to the concave metallic background. (I have a larger non-atomic Seiko wall clock with a white background. The difference in visibility is striking. If you prefer the highest visibility, this clock might not be your first choice.) I use this clock in the kitchen. The ticking noise is not noticeable unless you stand right in front of it. It is very quiet anyway.

The clock adjusted itself once the battery was plugged in. Did the adjustment within a couple of minutes. It was already set on PST so I didn’t have to move the switch to another time zone. Much better than the La Crosse clock I had. It gave out in just over two years of use. The La Crosse is much more difficult to adjust the time if it gets out of sync with the transmitted time or when putting in a new battery.
This Seiko clock just went about making a adjustment as soon as the battery was plugged in.
I only wish that it had a digital output of the date.
Other wise I am impressed how easy it was to setup.

Nice clock from Seiko. Since we do not receive radio waves in the interior of the house, we had to place the clock near a window to set it. Put the included battery in, set the clock near a window, and let it do its own thing overnight. So far we have had no problems. Can recommend.
